Our 4 Pillars

OUR A+ACADEMY'S 4 PILLARS

  1. Our Core Beliefs

We believe there should be a balance between Work and Play for all children which in our opinion is not possible with a 5 school day week and afternoon homework.

We strongly believe that the family unit is instituted by God We want to nurture families by giving them the opportunity to spend quality time together so students come to the academy for 3 ‘core’ days a week for their academic work and two 'satellite' days are spent at home or our academies in a cozy homely environment. Children require meaningful time to do sport, cultural and other family activities together like baking, biking, building bird catchers and climbing trees. Our students do not receive afternoon homework. We have a 5 day a week option where we accommodate students on their 'satellite days' at our Academies.

A+Academy’s ethos is built on a Christian Biblical foundation which is the key to our methodology. The motivation for our teaching style and culture, which we will continually strive to live up to, is taken from:

1 Cor. 13 vs 4  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

This is the culture and benchmark we strive to impart on our students and set as an example to our students throughout all our branches.

2. Developing the Whole Child

A+ is an exclusive and progressive Academy where we will join you on your journey to educate and develop your child into a well-rounded, balanced intelligent and caring young adult ready to take on the world and make a difference that counts.

“Play is the highest form of research.” — Albert Einstein.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination circles the world.” — Albert Einstein.

“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious”. — Albert Einstein.

We believe in the holistic development of children, the development of intellectual, mental, physical, emotional, and social abilities where learning starts with play for our younger age groups.

3. Acclaimed international curriculum

The only curriculum suitable for our students is the acclaimed CAIE Curriculum. We aim to start level 1 at the end of grade RRR all the way to grade 12 (AS and A levels). With smaller class sizes we can progress faster and give maximum individual attention to every student.

Our classrooms are designed to be inviting, relaxing, and a place where learning is cultivated. We have been entrusted to equip and prepare your child/children to successfully steer their way through tertiary education with the acclaimed CAIE International Curriculum we offer. By way of our university-style schedule for our older students, your child will learn and develop the skills of an independent learner, thus resulting in a smooth transition while your child/children prepare for university.

4. Powerful brain development

We believe in the powerful clinically proven methods of brain development which occur while playing classical musical instruments like the piano and violin, playing chess, solving the rubix cube, coding, abacus education, creating art and reading to children.
